History
It draws its
origin from the spaniel of the Middle Ages in the United Kingdom since
XIVème century, and which was used for hunting for the file
("lespainholz", word derived from old French to épaignir itself
to lie down, which made these dogs known as "setting" not to obstruct
the hunters throwing their nets on the oiseaux).Il was selected by the
British stockbreeders. At the XVIIIème century, the English
cocker spaniel was specialized in hunting for the
bécasse("cocking"). A contribution of blood of English dwarf

same time. The spaniel club was founded in 1898. Very popular race

Standard
Head:
Long. Cranium well developed, engraved. Well marked
stop. Quite square muzzle. Jaws strong. Broad truffle.
Eyes: Brown or hazel nuts harmonizes some with the
dress.
Ears: Attached low, in the shape of
lobe, fines. Beautiful fringes of long hairs right and silky.
Body: Trappu, registered in a square. Neck lengths
moderated, muscular, without pennon. Well Developed chest.
Well curved coasts. Short and broad kidney.
Tail:
With ttachée low, carried horizontallement and ever raised.
Usually curtailed. The continuous wriggling
of the whip is one of the
characteristics of the dog in action.
Hair: Dish, silky, never "wire",
nor corrugated, too abundant and ever not buckled. Fringes with the
members and on
the body.
Wrap: Colors varied. At the unicoloured ones, the
white is not allowed that on the breast piece.
Sizes: Male from 39 to 41 cm. Female from 38 to 39 cm.
Weight: From 12 with 14,5kg.
Character-Aptitude-education:
Vigorous, trés
active, tough, sharp, it is a large feather and game animals hunter on
difficult grounds. it does not fear bramble. Equipped with a large
smoothness of sense of smell, it beats the ground with ten or fifteen
meters of the hunter. Its search is crawling. After a stop, it stuffs
any game and gives voice to the rising of the hair or feather. It was
used much for hunting for rabbit. It is good Retriever but it is
sometimes difficult for him to submit a report/ratio out of deep water
with a duck in mouth. Merry, enjoué, exuberant, full with life,
equipped with a strong personality, it is independent but also
affectionate and soft. It is a charming companion.

Can live in apartment but
of long daily walks are essential. Brushing and combing twice per
weeks. Grooming two or three times per annum. Supervise the ears.
